Steps of Photosynthesis Modeling Activity
Have your students model the process of photosynthesis with this hands-on activity using simple materials. Students will discover the products and reactants of photosynthesis by modeling the molecules involved using beads and pipe cleaners. Different colored blocks that connect (such as LEGO) can also be used. This lesson is highly effective to allow students to “see” what happens with the different elements during photosynthesis. Great to use as an “Explore” activity in a 5E lesson plan. Supports NGSS 5 LS1-1, MS LS1-6, HS LS1-5; TEKS.SCI.9-11.B.9.B; VA SOL.LS.4.b; and KS 3 Biology standards.
This Resource Includes
• Student lab sheets (color and print-friendly)
• Two lab “mats” (one standard and one legal size)
• Sun models
• Answer Key
• Teacher Information including activity directions and differentiation ideas

Introduction and Properties of Waves Hands-on Engage and Exploration Activities
This bundle contains two complete lesson plans for teaching waves. The activities cover both the “Engage” and “Explore” sections of 5E lessons. The engage lesson includes several different activities including brainstorming, categorizing, analyzing, and summarizing. The explorations include lab activities covering both mechanical waves and electromagnetic waves. Both color and print-friendly student pages are included. Supports NGSS Standards 4-PS4-1 and MS-PS4-2.
This Bundle Includes
• 3 Introduction to Waves Student Sheets
• 4 Lab Station Cards
• 2 Exploration Questions Sheets (for rotating stations)
• 3 Exploring Waves Lab Sheets (for non-rotating stations or at-home use)
• 6 Teacher Information Sheets including materials and detailed instructions.

Simple Machines, Heat Transfer and Light Waves Card Sorts
This bundle includes four sorting activities for physics concepts. The first is classifying items as one of the six simple machines, the second is distinguishing between the three types of heat transfer, the third has students sort objects by the amount of light that passes through them, and the fourth set contains information on the wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. Each sort contains photographs of items, sorting sheets and answer keys. Different sizes and formats of cards are provided to use in a variety of ways. The large cards can be used for science centers or stations while the small ones will fit in interactive notebooks. Use these sets together or separately. All the sorts can be differentiated to fit the needs and levels of your students. Perfect for ELL, SPED, visual and kinesthetic learners.
This Resource Includes
• Simple Machines-48 different color picture cards in 4 formats (Inclined Plane, Screw, Wedge, Wheel and Axle, Pulley, and Lever)
• Heat Transfer-24 different color picture cards in 4 formats (Conduction, Convection, Radiation)
• Light Waves-24 different color picture cards in 4 formats (Transparent, Translucent, Opaque)
• Electromagnetic Spectrum-35 different color cards in 3 sizes (Headings, Examples, Wavelengths, Uses, and Dangers)
• Sorting Sheets (full-size, half-size, differentiated)
• Category Labels
• Answer Keys
